W chińskiej jadłodajni, z zamiarem zjedzenia taniego obiadu, wydałem 15 euro. Menu: mięso kości w karmelu plus ryż curry plus brokuły plus cola. Po prostu nie zorientowałem się, że należało powiedzieć wystarczy. gdy pani nakładała porcje do plastikowych pojemniczków. Tak to bywa z jedzeniem na wagę.

Tony Hiszpanów. Do tego stopnia, że jedni drugich pytają o drogę.

In a Chinese eating-house, thinking about having some cheap dinner, I spent 15 €. Menu: caramelized meat bones, curry rice, broccoli, coke. I simply didn’t realize one has to say enough. when the lady is dishing up the food. That’s how it works as far as food by weight is concerned.

The whole lot of Spaniards here. They even ask each other the way.


Przy placu Pigalle zaproponowano mi show natural w jednym z różowych salonów. Najbardziej zatłoczoną kawiarnią jest Starbucks.
Near the Pigalle I was offered a show natural (guttural ‘r’) in one of those XXX clubs. The most crowded café is Starbucks.

Spojrzałem w okno Van Gogha i w drzwi Picassa. Nikogo one szczególnie nie obchodzą.
I looked into Van Gogh’s window, and at Picasso’s door. Nobody actually gives a damn.

Napis Smolensko jest wyryty na Arc de Triomphe. Uważam, że to dostateczny powód, by „Łuk Triumfalny” przemianować na „Łuk Smoleński”, a L'Étoile (Rondo Gwiazdy) na rondo im. Lecha Kaczyńskiego.
There is Smolensko written on one of the walls of the Arc de Triomphe. In my humble opinion, provided Polish president died in Smolensk, that’s a sufficient reason to rename the Arc de Triomphe and call it the Smolensk Arc - and also, to rename L'Étoile (“The Square of the Star”) and call it “Lech Kaczyński’s Square”. And yes, that was ironic.


Z wewnątrz tegoż Łuku pozdrawiam tymczasem Henriego Cartier-Bressona.
